Who are they?

Impact Hustlers is a global community for impact-driven founders on a mission to bring together like-minded individuals who combine profitable business models with massive social impact. Maiko, the founder, booked us through the 'Designer a Day' service.

What was the brief?

Based on the current branding, he needed a refresh of the home page and designs for a couple more pages. He wanted to create a more personal, human experience and a hero section that showcases what the brand is all about: a globally friendly community. In addition, he requested that the onboarding process for new members be refined and a directory feature be added to make it easier for founders and investors to connect with companies and other founders. As the perfect client, he had wireframes ready for us, which helped to reduce our delivery times.

What did you deliver?

The hero section of a website is crucial because users typically glance at the hero image briefly before deciding whether to continue or move on to the next thing. Therefore, we have just a few seconds (at most) to grab their attention. To better showcase the brand's offerings, we redesigned the hero image to include a map representing its global impact. In addition, we added video call and event visuals, illustrated a chatty and resourceful community with communication indicators, and included a map highlighting our physical locations. Below the hero section, we designed a scrolling members section featuring the famous founders in the community.

We have redesigned the onboarding process and forms to be customised for startup founders. The new input fields are designed to be more user-friendly, with pre-filled multi-select options. Starting from the hero section and continuing through the onboarding process, we suggest introducing curves to design elements, because straight lines symbolise structure and order, while curves are softer and represent connection and community, aligning with the brand's values.
On the second day, we focused on refining the designs and directory pages of the website. These pages allow founders or investors to find specific impact-driven businesses by searching or filtering based on location, the problems they are focusing on, growth methods, revenue, or number of employees.
As our designs were being implemented by a Webflow developer, the founder once again hired us to design an event page for a sub-brand. This time, we completed both the design and Webflow development in a single day.
This is a recent project still in the launch phase, so the impact of our efforts is yet to be seen. While we await news of positive impact from our designs, we are happy to share the founder's brief and positive feedback as a token of our efforts.

What did they think?

Thanks so much for the hard work, this looks amazing! I loved the speed of execution combined with pragmatic, creative ideas on how to make our website shine!
